Keeping up with your new year's weight-loss resolutions

Updated: Feb 1, 2021

You may have resolved to lose weight this year, which isn’t always an easy task. We created this newsletter to focus on steps to take to ensure you reach your weight goals by avoiding common mistakes.

Here are four main reasons your weight loss could be failing...

Quick Fix

Reason 1: Aiming for a Quick Fix

A lot of people go wrong by setting unrealistic goals for themselves, such as saying “I want to lose 20lbs in the next 2 months”.

For most people, weight gain occurs gradually, over years. People who lose weight quickly tend to gain it back quickly too. If you’re looking for a weight loss program that really works and stands the test of time, we recommend our approach:

Step 1: Identify the cause

Our practitioners can help you identify exactly what is causing you to gain weight and preventing you from losing it.

Step 2: Commit to change

Losing weight is the result of long-term changes in your lifestyle that you must adopt. There is no quick-fix.

Step 3: Set a realistic goal

Setting a realistic weight-loss goal of 2lbs/week is healthy and attainable. Anything more than that has a tendency to creep back on.

Toxicity

Reason 2: Toxicity in the Body

Feeling sluggish? Heightened levels of toxins in your body might be the culprit.

How did they get there? Besides the billions of pounds of toxic chemicals that are released into the environment every year, improper diet can worsen the issue, including excess alcohol consumption. Due to this build up of toxins, the body’s metabolism may slow down, and both physical and mental fatigue can arise.

The solution is simple...

Step 1: Basic detox

A detox can start with the easy first step of cutting out sugar and processed foods from your diet. Limiting carbs is essential for weight loss as well.

Step 2: Clean out your pantry

Don't be afraid to get rid of any snacks or food items in your pantry that may be unhealthy and/or tempting. You will quickly forget they were ever there!

Hormonal Imbalance

Reason 3: Hormone Imbalance

Tired of feeling sluggish? Fed up with ‘brain fog’? Getting your hormones in balance is a great first step.

Hormonal imbalance can lead to serious health issues. Even a small imbalance can cause serious harm to your physical and emotional well-being. Research has also tied hormone imbalance to cancer, thyroid issues, stroke, osteoporosis and more.

You may be wondering how you hormones even become imbalanced.

The two main causes are...

Age: As you age, the glands that produce your hormones begin to decrease in function.

Toxins: Toxin build-up in the body causes hormone receptors to become weak. Like mentioned before, a detox may be necessary to cleanse the body of toxins.

At Balance Found, we can help you restore your natural hormone levels. Schedule a consultation and our experienced practitioners will design a treatment program just for you.

Reason 4: Sleep Deprivation

The importance of sleep ties into the rest of the previous reasons. Weight gain, toxicity and hormone imbalance may all play a role in sleep deprivation, and the worst part is, sleep deprivation can make these conditions worse as well.

To break out of this vicious cycle, it’s important to seek natural and long-lasting remedies as opposed to relying on a sleeping pill for an instant fix. Our practitioners can discover the root cause of your sleeplessness and provide you with a natural solution.

If you’d like to achieve the good night’s sleep you deserve, call Balance Found at 215-860-1500 to schedule an appointment with our team.
